Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who arrived in our country on a state visit.

The talks were preceded by an official welcoming ceremony for the Turkish President at the Akorda residence. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan introduced each other to members of the official delegations. The head of the guard of honor reported to the heads of state, after which the national anthems of Kazakhstan and Türkiye were played. The ceremony was followed by a meeting of the heads of state.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his gratitude to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for accepting the invitation to pay a state visit to Kazakhstan.

- I am confident that your state visit today will give a new impetus to cooperation between the two countries. We attach great importance to the expansion of cooperation with Türkiye. This issue is under my personal supervision. I believe that today we will exchange views on the agenda of our meeting and come to mutual agreements,” the Head of State said.

In turn, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan noted that he was pleased to meet again with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev after his state visit to Türkiye in May and a bilateral meeting in New York.

- Today we will hold the fourth meeting of the high-level Strategic Cooperation Council. Tomorrow we will participate in the CICA Summit. I am convinced that the reforms under your leadership will help maintain peace and improve the well-being of the people of Kazakhstan. I am certain that the presidential election which will take place on November 20 will benefit the Just and New Kazakhstan. I wish you success in the upcoming election," Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said.

The Turkish President also underlined that at a time of global and regional instability, it is necessary to strengthen the interaction of Turkic states, therefore ensuring security, stability, territorial integrity and improvement of the economic well-being of Kazakhstan – a brotherly country and a strategic partner of Türkiye –  is of particular importance.

- The joint statement and 14 documents on cooperation in various fields signed during your state visit to Türkiye gave a new impetus to our relations. Today, a number of new documents will be added to these agreements. I would like to thank you once again for the hospitality extended to me and my delegation on the Kazakh land," the President of Türkiye said.
