On the sidelines of the BRICS Summit President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Special Envoy of the President of the United States for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sergio Gor conveyed a personal message from President Donald Trump to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, extending congratulations ahead of the 35th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence.
The Head of State thanked the U.S. President for his warm wishes and reaffirmed his invitation to the American leader to pay a visit to Kazakhstan.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the dynamic development of the Enhanced Strategic Partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States, emphasizing the particular importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
– I am currently preparing to take part in the G20 Summit in Miami. I believe this will also be a good opportunity to discuss the issues on the bilateral agenda. We prefer not fine words, but tangible results and practical steps to advance our mutual cooperation, – emphasized the President of Kazakhstan.

For his part, Sergio Gor noted that thanks to close and trust-based contacts between the leaders of Kazakhstan and the U.S., bilateral relations have reached an unprecedentedly high level.
– Today, trade and economic ties and cooperation between our countries are actively developing. Our President attaches great importance to strengthening the partnership with Kazakhstan and Central Asia, – noted the Special Envoy.
The meeting also addressed a number of important areas of joint work with particular focus on priority fields such as artificial intelligence and digitalization.
In conclusion, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding multifaceted partnership and giving additional impetus to mutually beneficial cooperation.
