During his working visit to Abu Dhabi, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, Mohamed Al-Ramahi.
The Head of State emphasised that the partnership between Kazakhstan and Masdar has reached a qualitatively new level. He noted that the parties have successfully signed all the necessary agreements for the implementation of a major project to build a wind farm with a capacity of 1 GW in Zhambyl region. The volume of investment in this project will amount to $ 1.4 billion.
For his part, Mohammed Al Ramahi informed the President of the company's plans to start construction works and expressed interest in using local components to produce wind turbines for the project.
The discussion also focused on the further expansion of Masdar’s presence in Kazakhstan and the implementation of new significant projects in the fields of renewable energy and digitalization.
Also at the meeting was Khalid Salmin, CEO for Refining and Marketing at ADNOC.
The Head of State emphasized that Kazakhstan places great importance on the continued development of partnership relations with ADNOC.
For his part, Khaled Salmin highlighted the significant prospects for cooperation between the national oil and gas companies of both countries.
The interlocutors discussed the implementation of joint investment projects in the oil and gas sector, as well as in the field of geological exploration. Special attention was given to cooperation in the areas of digitalization and artificial intelligence.
