Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for International Investment and Trade Cooperation – Murat Nurtleu

Born on March 11, 1976 in Almaty.

Graduated from the al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Faculty of International Relations).

1998 – Attaché of the State Protocol Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

1999-2003 – Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Malaysia.

2003-2007 – Second Secretary of the Department of Asia and Africa, Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Head of the Secretariat of the Minister.

2007-2011 – Deputy Head and later Head of the Office of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2011 – Ambassador-at-large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director of the Department of Asia and Africa.

2011-2014 – Minister Counselor at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva (Switzerland).

2014-2016 – Deputy Head of the Center for Foreign Policy of the Presidential Executive Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2016-2019 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Finland, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Estonia concurrently.

2019-2021 – Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2021-2022 – Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

January 2022 – First Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2022-2023 – Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2023-2025 – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On September 26, 2025, by the Presidential Decree, he was appointed Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for International Investment and Trade Cooperation.

Foreign languages: English and German.

Married, father of four children.

He holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
