The Head of State held a meeting with experts in the field of artificial intelligence

During his working visit to the UAE, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in a meeting with experts on artificial intelligence (AI) development.

Speaking to the participants of the event, the Head of State noted that AI is one of the key drivers of modern progress and has the potential to radically transform the economy.

– In Kazakhstan, we have taken significant steps to establish a solid foundation for AI advancement, focusing on developing institutional frameworks, infrastructure, and human capital. As part of our institutional framework, we are establishing the International Advisory Council on Artificial Intelligence, which will operate under my supervision. This Council will serve as a strategic platform for dialogue and exchange with leading global experts, bringing together engineers, researchers, and entrepreneurs to formulate recommendations for national AI policy and strengthen international collaboration, – noted the President.

As Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized, the key priority for Kazakhstan in the field of AI is the training and support of highly qualified specialists. According to him, the success of AI implementation directly depends on the qualifications and experience of those who develop and use these technologies.

The Head of State also announced that Kazakhstan has established the AlemAI Advanced Technology Center, which will integrate the best global practices and promote the implementation of innovative solutions. He pointed out that the center will serve as a hub for AI-related initiatives, including educational programs for schools, universities, and vocational training centers, research centers, offices for startups and companies, as well as platforms for sharing experiences and best practices.

– In the field of education, we have introduced the innovative Al-Sana program, designed to foster human capital development in AI. This program facilitates the development of advanced AI solutions by providing interdisciplinary training to professionals from diverse sectors, – the President added.

In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan aims to become an active participant in the global AI ecosystem and called on the participants of the event to collaborate in various areas, from scientific research to establishing ethical standards.

The event continued with a discussion, which was attended by Alexander Khanin, Founder of Polynome, Andrew Jackson, Chief AI Officer at G42, Merouane Debbah, Professor at Khalifa University of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi, Ebtesam AlMazrouei, Chair of the Executive Board of the UN's "AI for Good" initiative, Talal M. Al Kaissi, Director of Government Affairs and Partnerships at Core42, Timothy Baldwin, Provost and Professor at the Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, Abdulnabi Abrar, Head of AI Department at Saal.ai, and Faris Suhail Al Mazrouei, Director of Venture Projects and Development at Mubadala Investment Company.
